About Studio Egregia

Studio Egregia is the parent home of three workshops built by the same team: 2Egress, our original custom studio furniture line, handbuilt in Baltic birch since 2010; Eurorack Modular Case, our dedicated large-format eurorack case and cable hanger workshop; and Strata Sphere, our newest addition, bringing custom 3D printing and fabrication under the same roof.

What started as bespoke studio desks for composers and mixing engineers grew into a full-scale eurorack case operation once modular synth artists started asking for the same level of craftsmanship applied to their racks. Strata Sphere continues that pattern — taking what we've learned building precision furniture and cases and applying it to custom fabrication.

Every piece — desk, case, or fabricated part — is made to order in the USA by the same small team, which is why Studio Egregia now brings them together under one name.

Meet the Team

Brock, Co-Founder and Master Builder of Studio Egregia

Brock

Co-Founder / Designer / Master Builder

Born in Maine, Brock's obsession with creating began in the basement of an old sea captain's home on Casco Bay, where he learned the fundamentals of woodworking from his father while building a massive, intricate model railroad. After high school, he channeled that mechanical aptitude into the United States Marine Corps, serving as a power-plants mechanic and plane captain on the AV-8B Harrier jump jet before earning a spot in an elite service crew building jet engines and running the engine test cell.

Back in civilian life, Brock fused his mechanical expertise with his love of the ocean, rebuilding classic wooden sailboats — a pursuit that culminated in five years living aboard and sailing his Bristol Channel Cutter. His path later led him to North Carolina, restoring Porsche automobiles, and then to Toronto to earn a degree in Audio Engineering.

In 2010, while building custom studio furniture on the 38th-floor balcony of his Toronto condo, Brock recognized a void in the industry: no one was building furniture tailored specifically for high-end audio professionals. He co-founded 2Egress Sound and Design, teaching himself CNC design and production from the ground up — and when a client asked if he could build a custom Eurorack case, Eurorack Modular Case was born.

Following a late-2024 cancer diagnosis, Brock fought his way into remission — and during treatment and recovery, the thing he missed most was the workshop. Today, the studio is no longer just a business but a profound passion project and a celebration of creative survival. In 2026, Studio Egregia was formed to gather all of his shops under one roof — a unified home for a lifelong history of uncompromising craftsmanship.

Dion, Co-Founder and Chief Whip of Studio Egregia

Dion

Co-Founder / Chief Whip

Born and raised in Singapore, Dion brings an international, cross-disciplinary perspective to custom fabrication, audio culture, and digital design. A lifelong music lover and multilingual in four languages, he spent over a decade running high-end hospitality operations across North America—including top-tier properties in North Carolina and downtown Toronto—after graduating from a prestigious hotel management school in Sydney.

Driven by his passion for sound and craftsmanship, Dion pivoted to precision manufacturing in 2010, co-founding 2Egress Sound and Design in Toronto to merge fine woodworking with cutting-edge CNC technology. Channeling his deep love of music into community-building, he also launched the Toronto Modular Synth Workshop (TOMS), creating a vibrant hub for Eurorack enthusiasts and electronic musicians to learn, share, and collaborate.

Following local gentrification in Toronto, Dion spearheaded the business's relocation to the US, building a brand-new studio space from the ground up. In 2026, he co-founded Studio Egregia as the unified new home for their creative umbrella—housing 2Egress Sound and Design, Eurorackmodularcase.com, and their 3D printing and fabrication business, Strata Sphere. Dion balances hands-on shop fabrication and daily operations with digital brand strategy and web development across all three ventures.
